يَا أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ لِمَ تُحَرِّمُ مَا أَحَلَّ اللَّهُ لَكَ ۖ تَبْتَغِي مَرْضَاتَ أَزْوَاجِكَ ۚ وَاللَّهُ غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ
1. O Prophet, why do you prohibit [yourself from] what Allah has made lawful for you, seeking the approval of your wives? And Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
أَنْ لَا يَدْخُلَنَّهَا الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكُمْ مِسْكِينٌ
24. [Saying], "There will surely not enter it today upon you [any] poor person."
وَلَمْ نَكُ نُطْعِمُ الْمِسْكِينَ
44. Nor did we used to feed the poor.
وَيُطْعِمُونَ الطَّعَامَ عَلَىٰ حُبِّهِ مِسْكِينًا وَيَتِيمًا وَأَسِيرًا
8. And they give food in spite of love for it to the needy, the orphan, and the captive,
وَلَا تَحَاضُّونَ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ الْمِسْكِينِ
18. And you do not encourage one another to feed the poor.
يَقُولُ أَهْلَكْتُ مَالًا لُبَدًا
6. He says, "I have spent wealth in abundance."
أَوْ إِطْعَامٌ فِي يَوْمٍ ذِي مَسْغَبَةٍ
14. Or feeding on a day of severe hunger
أَوْ مِسْكِينًا ذَا مَتْرَبَةٍ
16. Or a needy person in misery
