مَا تَذَرُ مِنْ شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ
42. It left nothing of what it came upon but that it made it like disintegrated ruins.
وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا حَتَّىٰ حِينٍ
43. And in Thamud, when it was said to them, "Enjoy yourselves for a time."
فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مِنْ قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنْتَصِرِينَ
45. And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves.
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِنْ قَبْلُ ۖ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ
46. And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient.
أَتَوَاصَوْا بِهِ ۚ بَلْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
53. Did they suggest it to them? Rather, they [themselves] are a transgressing people.
فَإِنَّ لِلَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا ذَنُوبًا مِثْلَ ذَنُوبِ أَصْحَابِهِمْ فَلَا يَسْتَعْجِلُونِ
59. And indeed, for those who have wronged is a portion [of punishment] like the portion of their predecessors, so let them not impatiently urge Me.
الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي خَوْضٍ يَلْعَبُونَ
12. Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves.
أَمْ تَأْمُرُهُمْ أَحْلَامُهُمْ بِهَٰذَا ۚ أَمْ هُمْ قَوْمٌ طَاغُونَ
32. Or do their minds command them to [say] this, or are they a transgressing people?
فَلْيَأْتُوا بِحَدِيثٍ مِثْلِهِ إِنْ كَانُوا صَادِقِينَ
34. Then let them produce a statement like it, if they should be truthful.
وَإِنْ يَرَوْا كِسْفًا مِنَ السَّمَاءِ سَاقِطًا يَقُولُوا سَحَابٌ مَرْكُومٌ
44. And if they were to see a fragment from the sky falling, they would say, "[It is merely] clouds heaped up."
