وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَٰذَا الْوَعْدُ إِنْ كُنْتُمْ صَادِقِينَ
38. And they say, "When is this promise, if you should be truthful?"
وَالَّذِينَ سَعَوْا فِي آيَاتِنَا مُعَاجِزِينَ أُولَٰئِكَ أَصْحَابُ الْجَحِيمِ
51. But the ones who strove against Our verses, [seeking] to cause failure - those are the companions of Hellfire.
أَيَعِدُكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ إِذَا مِتُّمْ وَكُنْتُمْ تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَنَّكُمْ مُخْرَجُونَ
35. Does he promise you that when you have died and become dust and bones that you will be brought forth [once more]?
۞ هَيْهَاتَ هَيْهَاتَ لِمَا تُوعَدُونَ
36. How far, how far, is that which you are promised.
إِنْ هِيَ إِلَّا حَيَاتُنَا الدُّنْيَا نَمُوتُ وَنَحْيَا وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمَبْعُوثِينَ
37. Life is not but our worldly life - we die and live, but we will not be resurrected.
بَلْ قَالُوا مِثْلَ مَا قَالَ الْأَوَّلُونَ
81. Rather, they say like what the former peoples said.
قَالُوا أَإِذَا مِتْنَا وَكُنَّا تُرَابًا وَعِظَامًا أَإِنَّا لَمَبْعُوثُونَ
82. They said, "When we have died and become dust and bones, are we indeed to be resurrected?
لَقَدْ وُعِدْنَا نَحْنُ وَآبَاؤُنَا هَٰذَا مِنْ قَبْلُ إِنْ هَٰذَا إِلَّا أَسَاطِيرُ الْأَوَّلِينَ
83. We have been promised this, we and our forefathers, before; this is not but legends of the former peoples."
وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا عَلَى الْقَرْيَةِ الَّتِي أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ السَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا
40. And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.
وَمَا نَحْنُ بِمُعَذَّبِينَ
138. And we are not to be punished."
